These days with MSI's crazy cooling solutions, Asus' great PCB's, and EVGA's warranty.well, I just don't see why anyone would buy the usually overpriced PNY anymore. They have a terrible warranty department and a lot of their cards are not reference, w/ a stripped down heatsink or simple PCB. I don't remember when their awesome warranty came into play though.Īs for the knock against PNY, it's well deserved. Other than the TNT and Geforce 256, they've been with NV for most of the way. Grrrrrrrrrr.ĭon't remember how far back PNY went or if they sold 3DFX cards, but I remember going through a pile of cards and seeing an EVGA branded Geforce 2. I am going to have to invest time and effort into something that never should of had to be dealt with in the first place, Gigabyte should pay me for my time and effort. I'm not RMA'ing this for a replacement, I don't want a replacement, if I can't get my money back, this card is getting thrown at a wall, and I'll call it a loss, *sigh*, sorry for the rage but I don't exactly have the most money, and it feels like I have been royally screwed by trying something 'different' from the norm from what I usually go with Gigabyte and it ended up byting me in the arse, even though Tom's Hardware gave it a top rating, what a joke. I am not the sole person with this problem, I am not thread trolling, this is extremely important.

Every now and then when the driver crashes the card will also lock to extremely low clocks to 'protect' itself, making everything laaaaaaag, with no way to restore the card without having to reset. Waste of time if you actually want to use this card for a while. Google Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti SOC Issues, and there are many. Never ever consider these cards, they are prone to being dodgy. Never had a problem with EVGA for reliability, seen lots of reviews on these, but nothing about reliability. Everything else is fine, only started going screwy when I put this new card in. PSU is fine (I have run a GTX 285 FTW EVGA in the past with everything else I have atm).

Drivers keep crashing with them from overheating or from not having enough voltage or something else. I was hoping to build a rock solid system- I haven't overclocked or tweaked a thing.Įdit: As a note, I'm dropping the stock overclock from 900MHz to 850MHz to see if this alleviates anything.

I did format it, obviously.ĭoes it sound related to my GPU, or could it be actually related to my Windows install on my SSD?

Now, these crashes and stuttering usually occurred when I was doing something like launching an application at the time same, or doing something that might be hard drive intensive, so I wonder if it's a problem with my SSD- I didn't secure erase it before installing Windows 7 (it had previously been in my laptop with zero issues). That may be more related to Flash player interacting with my card, though my laptop's ATI 5650M never had that issue. I keep getting display driver crashes, and occasionally, when I had GPU acceleration for Flash (on Firefox), I would get weird audio stuttering sometimes. Recently put together a new computer, and I'm using a PNY GTX 560 Ti XLR8 (stock overclocked to 900MHz).
